Reading Glasses Frames Your Face

If you have to wear reading glasses, you might as well have some cool frames. In the past these “drugstore glasses” were pretty ugly and only offered in a few generic styles. Today reading glasses frames are a fashion accessory. Did you ever think you’d see the day when someone actually wanted to wear glasses? My husband said he always wanted to, but I certainly never did. He got his wish shortly after we got married and much to my chagrin; I do need reading glasses now. It’s nice to know that I can get fashion reading glasses frames. It makes me feel a little better that I don’t have to look tacky.

Frames come in all kinds of styles and colors. I have to say the retro ones are pretty cool. With the popularity of Mad Men, fashion as well as accessories is taking a cue from the retro look. Do I think I will wear cat eye leopard print frames with rhinestones? That is doubtful, but I can buy some reading glasses in my favorite color and choose a shape to flatter my features.

There are endless choices. You can get full lenses or half glasses. There are even frames with built in lights. Yes, I said lights. There are little LED lights in the corners of the frames allowing you to read in the dark. I guess that is preferable to what I did when I was teenager. Once my parents said “lights out,” I read under the covers with a flashlight. I’ll bet a lot of us read with a flashlight. I could read while my husband sleeps and not bother him. Oh who am I kidding? Once he is asleep, dynamite will not wake him.

There are metal frames, acrylic frames, wire frames, and frameless styles on the market.

You can get just about any shape and size you can think of. I saw some designer readers that were lorgnettes. I think that would be inconvenient because you have to hold them and the pinc nez styles are just too weird for my taste, but to each his own. There is no reason not to express yourself with some creative choices in reading glasses frames. You can match them to your clothes as well as your personality. It really doesn’t matter if you are male or female; there are frames to flatter everyone.
