Plastic Reading Glasses

They come in every frame style and color of the rainbow. Plastic allows for some really spectacular patterns too. I have seen them in zebra stripes, leopard, and all kinds of prints. If you want a little bling, buy some embellished with crystals. Women, in particular are embracing the idea of using reading glasses for accessories, so having a lot of options is important.

Plastic lenses have been in existence for years even in prescription glasses. They are much lighter than glass lenses. In years past they were also more prone to scratching, but these days they are more scratch resistant. I can remember I was young seeing people with coke bottle glasses. who were teased endlessly. Now those who need a very strong prescription can have lighter and more attractive glasses. I have seen all plastic reading glasses that cause a bit of a distortion. I would say that you should avoid very inexpensive plastic reading glasses and as with glass readers, check for bubbles and ripples in the glass. You dont want to cause more problems than you solve.

That being said, reading glasses with plastic frames are pretty inexpensive. They are cheaper to produce than many metal frames and plastic or acrylic allows for a lot more variation in color choice or style. They can be molded into virtually any shape. Im sure the glasses celebrities are sporting probably cost an arm and a leg, but check online. You can find plastic reading glasses that are just as trendy. One site I checked had a six pack of plastic reading glasses in a rainbow of colors. You could match any outfit for less than thirty dollars for all six pair. Some of the ones with faux tortoise shell finish are very classy looking. I have also seen some with filigree detailing on the temples that look nice as well. So go ahead and embrace your tired old eyes, but get yourself some interesting readers. Even the guys want to look good and the classic black reading glasses that remind us of Clark Kent are finding new fans in younger men.
