Bifocal Reading Glasses Aren't Just For Grannies Anymore

Bifocal reading glasses are much easier to get used to than in the past. Today you can get no line bifocals. I know I would find the line very distracting. Bifocals allow you to see up close when looking down and far away while looking up. The thing that takes some getting used to is walking. Yep, I said walking. If you look down while you walk the ground appears to be rising up to meet you, so its easy to make a misstep. My husband has them and he said once he got used to looking forward and not down as he walked, he loved his no line glasses.

Bifocals are great if you are doing a variety of activities. You can use them for close work and reading and not have to remove them to get up and move around. If you are like my husband and work on the computer and watch TV simultaneously, bifocals are for you. You can buy them at any number of stores and online. They come in several different strengths and as many colors and patterns as anyone would want. Prices start under $10.00 a pair and go up to $40.00 or $50.00. Designer frames may be a bit more.

Speaking designers, almost every major designer has a line of reading glasses. Fashion conscious people very often want more than one pair and you can get them to match any outfit. Ill tell you the truth if Foster Grant reading glasses would make me look like Raquel Welch, I would definitely spring for a pair. It was very smart marketing on their part to translate the famous sunglasses into reading glasses and to use such an attractive older woman to promote them. If Raquel wears bifocals, how bad could they be?

Bifocal readering glasses are made with no correction in the upper lenses and the reading correction in the lower ones. They come in a number of strengths and you will love not having to take the readers on and off. If you work outdoors, they make them in tinted UV protective styles as well. I am thinking of getting pair because I love to sit outside and read when the weather is nice. They would be perfect for that beach read you have been saving for vacation. People today often have an eyeglass wardrobe and think of them as accessories so bifocal reading glasses would be a good addition to your collection.
